Aspinochilus rufus / Peach Earth Tiger
The Aspinochilus rufus, commonly called the Peach Earth Tiger tarantula, is a fascinating and moderately hardy species prized for its striking peachy colouration and tiger-like markings. Native to Southeast Asia, this terrestrial tarantula enjoys a warm, humid environment and requires a well-ventilated enclosure with good substrate depth for burrowing.
Housing: A 5-10 gallon terrarium with 3-4 inches of coconut fibre or peat moss is ideal. Provide hiding spots using cork bark or artificial caves. Maintain temperature between 75 and 85°F (24 and 29°C) and humidity around 70%, misting lightly to prevent dryness.
Feeding: Feed primarily on crickets, roaches, or mealworms once or twice a week. Juveniles may require smaller prey more often. Ensure fresh water is always available in a shallow dish.
This species is generally docile but quick; it’s best suited for keepers with some experience. Proper care ensures a healthy, beautiful tarantula to enjoy for years
