Psalmopoeus pulcher / Panama Blonde
The Psalmopoeus pulcher, commonly known as the Panama Blonde, is a stunning arboreal tarantula prized for its striking golden-yellow colouration. Native to Central America, especially Panama, this spider is fast, alert, and requires a spacious vertical enclosure to thrive.
Housing: Provide a tall terrarium with plenty of climbing opportunities, such as cork bark and branches. Maintain moderate humidity around 70% with good ventilation and a temperature range of 24–28°C (75–82°F).
Feeding: Their diet mainly consists of live insects like crickets and roaches and occasionally small feeder vertebrates. Feed juveniles more frequently, about twice a week, while adults can be fed once weekly.
Behaviour: Panama Blondes are fast and can be defensive, so handle with care or observe without direct contact. They are known for their beautiful webbing and active nature.
